Kaity Baldwin has written a riveting and entertaining novel where she manages to find the balance between action and emotion. She provides just enough detail for the reader to become involved in the story without bogging down in pages of minutiae. Her characters struggle with decisions and values such as loyalty, friendship and honor, providing plenty of fodder for book club discussions. This is an author with a lot of promise -- I look forward to reading more of her works.
Lily's War has a brilliant plot, with the world already in shambles and small groups of civilians trying to survive ... Predators hunting Humans with an overwhelming advantage. As an unlikely hero emerges to lead the civilians, will it be enough? Or is it too little too late? This fast-paced action adventure had me on the edge of my seat until the very end, where a surprising twist was waiting. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in a fresh and exhilarating style delivered by this very talented author.
Lily's War starts out fast-paced and doesn't stop. Humans are on the edge of extinction. An alien race has invaded Earth and is systemically destroying civilization. However, a few brave souls are fighting back. An unlikely group has come up with a plan to attempt to save the small remaining population but it will take everything they have to make it work. If you enjoy futuristic action then this book is for you!
